Rehearsal recordings with ab|takt: information and consent
Last updated: 05.11.2026 · version chor-2026-11-05. The German version (Probenaufnahmen mit ab|takt) is authoritative.
What happens
The conductor records rehearsals with ab|takt. ab|takt transcribes the conductor's spoken remarks and links them to the places in the score. The conductor can share selected remarks, with short audio clips and the score pages, with the members of this choir, never the whole recording.
What is recorded
Everything that can be heard in the room during the recording: the singing, the conductor's speech and contributions from the choir, sometimes also names.
Who processes the data
Peachnote GmbH, Büchnerstr. 7, 86161 Augsburg, Germany, which operates ab|takt; datenschutz@abtakt.com. The data are stored and analysed in the EU, at Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt am Main. The audio file does not go to any AI service; only the transcribed text goes to language models of Google Cloud in the EU. No one is recognised by their voice, and no one is assessed individually. Only the conductor sees the full transcript.
Personal information in the rehearsal
In a rehearsal, something personal may be said in passing, for example about health. It then appears in the transcript. Your consent expressly also covers such information (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). The conductor does not discuss personal matters while recording, or pauses the recording to do so.
Your performance
With your consent you also allow your singing to be recorded for these purposes and shared in short clips with the members of this choir. Publication or disclosure outside the choir is not covered.
Voluntary
Consent is voluntary. Anyone who does not consent, or withdraws consent later, suffers no disadvantage as a result, including in a course or class or in casting. If anyone objects, the conductor does not record.
Under 18
Rehearsals in which anyone under 18 is singing are not recorded with ab|takt.
How long
The recordings remain stored until the conductor deletes them; shared clips until the conductor stops sharing them. A recording is kept for the further development of ab|takt only if the choir was asked separately beforehand and everyone agreed.
Withdrawal
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, with the conductor or by email to datenschutz@abtakt.com, stating the choir and the date of the rehearsal. The recordings in which you can be heard will then be deleted. What happened before the withdrawal remains lawful.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in Austria with the Datenschutzbehörde or in Germany with the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht. All details are in the privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR).
