ab|takt captures what the conductor says in rehearsal and afterwards shows it at the right place in the score. Your members don’t need to install anything: the remarks reach them as text or on paper.

What ab|takt does

The conductor records the rehearsal with a phone and transfers it. Speech recognition transcribes it; the remarks then appear at the right place in the score, in the conductor’s words (transcribed automatically) and with a short audio clip. At first only the conductor sees the results; they forward the remarks as text or print the marked score.

Sharing with the choir (optional)

The conductor can share selected remarks with their audio clips with the choir in ab|takt, never the whole recording. For this, they and every member need an account (email code, 18 and over); the conductor sees name, voice and role, never the email address. Other voices can be heard in the clips: share only if the choir agrees.

What it costs

Currently free, with monthly limits: 8 rehearsal recordings and 60 score files per account and month (Terms 2). The conductor needs an account to transfer (18 and over); members need one only if the conductor shares remarks in the choir in ab|takt.

What doesn’t happen

Without separate consent we don’t use the recordings to train AI models. We don’t pass them on to third parties (only to the processors named) and use no advertising and no tracking.

Who records

Whoever records tells the choir beforehand and asks for their consent, for example once at the start of the season (text for the choir). Anyone who doesn’t want to be recorded says so – and then there is no recording. Privacy policy, section 4. Adults only: rehearsals with minors must not be recorded (Terms 1 and 6).

Where the data is

Recordings and scores are stored and processed in the EU, encrypted in transit and at rest. AI service providers in the EU receive only text and images of individual score pages: to recognise title, composer, movements and voices and, if the lyrics are missing, to read them from the pages. The recording never goes to them.

Processors: hosting and infrastructure providers in the EU and AI service providers in the EU; some belong to groups based in the USA (privacy policy, section 3).

Deletion

Recordings and results are kept until they are deleted, intermediate files for at most 30 days. On the device, the person who recorded deletes them in the app. Anything already transferred they also delete in the app (Settings → Data on our servers) – or we delete it when you email datenschutz@abtakt.com. Anyone who can be heard on a recording can contact the conductor or us directly. Deleted data may remain in our backups for about 35 days; we use them only for restoring data. Section 5

When the conductor changes

Shared remarks belong to the choir in ab|takt and stay as long as there is another conductor and the rehearsal is not deleted. If the last conductor deletes their account, the choir is deleted with everything shared in it.
